10/10/2008 10:59:00 AM
PEEL Thunder export Kyle Reimers won the Lindsay Griffith's Rising Star Award at the Essendon Football Club’s presentation night.

Rising to fame this season with his outlandish bright orange boots, the 19-year-old played 15 games this season before succumbing to injury.

He averaged 14 disposals, two tackles and one goal per game.

In his second year in the AFL, Reimers was drafted to the Bombers in 2006 with pick 47.

The boy from Bunbury played three games in his debut season last year after making a good impression with VFL affiliate the Bendigo Bombers.

Meanwhile fellow Peel export and Essendon player Danny Chartres was delisted.

The 22-year-old defender was drafted to Essendon’s rookie list in 2006.
